Server management

Server Stats

Create locked voice-channel counters that show live server totals.

Updated October 21, 20262 min read

Getting started

1

Apply a preset

Choose Essential, Community, Gaming, or Complete. Presets only add missing counters and preserve existing Discord channel IDs.

2

Customize names

Edit any voice-channel template with {count}; custom role counters also support {role}, and every counter supports {server}.

3

Add counters

Track members, activity, boosts, roles, channels, categories, emojis, stickers, scheduled events, or a specific Discord role.

4

Choose the schedule

Set a five-to-sixty-minute refresh interval. NightCrew only renames channels whose displayed value changed.

5

Monitor health

Review healthy, pending, paused, and failed delivery totals plus each counter's last value, sync time, and error.

6

Recover safely

Keep automatic repair enabled to recreate a missing counter channel without touching healthy counters.

7

Organize your counters

Search and filter counters, change visual order, duplicate a setup, sync one counter, or export a portable JSON backup.

8

Force a refresh

Run /serverstats-sync as a server manager when you need an immediate update.

Settings reference

Use this reference when you need to check what a setting does.

Category name

Discord category created for all counter channels.

Update interval

Minimum time between refreshes; five minutes is the fastest option.

Counter type

Members, humans, bots, online, boosts, roles, or one selected role.

Channel template

Voice-channel name supporting {count}, {role}, and {server}.

Channel ID

Stored after NightCrew creates the counter so later syncs update the same channel.

How it works

Here’s what happens once you’ve finished setup.

  1. 1
    Dashboard

Stores the six defaults and any custom role counters for the selected server.

  2. 2
    NightCrew

Loads enabled counters, creates a locked category and voice channels when missing, then calculates current values.

  3. 3
    Safe update

Compares the rendered name with Discord and only renames a channel when its displayed value changed.

  4. 4
    Recovery

Recreates a configured counter if its Discord voice channel was manually deleted.

Example

EXAMPLE
Creator community

Use `📊 Server Stats`, refresh every 10 minutes, and display `👥 Members: {count}`, `🟢 Online: {count}`, `🚀 Boosts: {count}`, plus `{role}: {count}` for Creator and Staff roles.

Permissions

!
What NightCrew needs
  • Manage Channels
  • View Channels
  • Connect
  • Server Members intent

Discord commands

/serverstats-syncRefresh every configured counter now

Things to know

!

Counter voice channels are locked by category permissions. Do not grant Connect to @everyone on the generated category unless members should be able to join counters.

Troubleshooting

Channels stay pending

Confirm the bot is online, Server Stats is enabled, and it has Manage Channels.

Members or role totals are wrong

Enable Server Members intent and wait for the member cache to populate.

Online is zero

Discord did not return an approximate presence count; wait for the next refresh.

Names do not update instantly

Use /serverstats-sync or wait for the selected refresh interval.

Common questions

A counter says zero+

Confirm the bot has Server Members intent enabled and can see the selected role.

Online stays at zero+

Discord must return an approximate presence count; wait for the next refresh.

A counter needs attention+

Open its error detail, confirm Manage Channels, then run the per-counter refresh.
