Troubleshooting

Fix common dashboard, Discord, hosting, and Cloudflare problems.

Updated October 21, 20262 min read

Getting started

1

Confirm the process

Check the correct bot and dashboard host processes and read their startup errors. After a required restart, look for Logged in as plus synced commands. Lavalink may run on a separate audio host.

2

Check Cloudflare

Error 1033 means the tunnel connector is offline. Start the dashboard and cloudflared and verify the localhost port.

3

Check hierarchy

Move NightCrew above target roles. Administrator does not bypass hierarchy.

4

Refresh resources

Refresh after changing roles or channels and confirm NightCrew can view them.

5

Capture the error

Copy the traceback from its first error line through the final exception.

6

Use the command reference

An unexpected slash-command error provides a private reference that staff can match in host logs. Check the result before retrying an action whose delivery could not be confirmed.

Settings reference

Use this reference when you need to check what a setting does.

Host console

Check the host console for startup errors, Discord connection problems, and command sync messages.

Cloudflare 1033

The Cloudflare tunnel cannot reach the dashboard. Check that the tunnel and dashboard processes are running.

Internal Server Error

The dashboard hit an error. Note the time and check the matching entry in the host log.

Missing permissions

Discord denied a requested action.

Missing resource

Configured role/channel was deleted, moved out of visibility, or belongs to another server.

How it works

Here’s what happens once you’ve finished setup.

  1. 1
    Reproduce

Repeat the smallest action that fails.

  2. 2
    Observe

Capture browser message and complete host traceback at the same time.

  3. 3
    Isolate

Check selected server, module state, plan, bot status, role hierarchy, channel permissions, and stored resource.

  4. 4
    Correct

Change one cause, restart only when required, and retest.

Example

EXAMPLE
Useful support report

Include the page or command, selected server, expected result, actual result, timestamp, full console traceback, and whether the shared or custom bot handled it. Remove all tokens.

Troubleshooting

Cloudflare is healthy but page fails

The connector can be online while the localhost web service is stopped or using a different port.

Only one module fails

Check that module's master switch, plan entitlement, selected resources, and required permissions.

Everything fails after deployment

Confirm all files were replaced together, dependencies installed, environment variables preserved, and the correct process restarted.

Common questions

Why do I see FastAPI?+

Install v6.11 or newer. NightCrew documentation uses /docs and developer API docs moved to /api/docs.

Why Internal Server Error?+

Read the host console at the same timestamp; the last exception line usually identifies the cause.
